I Hope I can can answer all of your questions below
Q. Who is “a very French wedding"
A. “a very French wedding” is Ian Wallace photographer. Please check out my "About" page to get further details.
Q. Do you travel outside of France to photograph weddings?
A. Yes, I am happy to travel to any location for you.
Q. How would you describe your style of photography?
A. I guess I would describe my style as documentary lifestyle – it is really important to me to capture the essence of your day so that you, your family and your friends are relaxed and at ease. I like to ensure that the formal portraits are only the beginning of the story that sums up this most special day.
Q. What sort of person are you and do you work well under pressure?
A. A wedding day can be pretty stressful for everyone, including me, however I am used to working in time poor and often challenging situations and have done so throughout my career. I believe I handle these situations very well. I am fun loving, very upbeat and have a repertoire of awful jokes (according to my wife!) to help everyone feel relaxed and at ease.
Q. Can we chat to you before we book you for our wedding?
A. Of course, I am more than happy to speak to you and answer all your questions. We can speak on the phone or by skype or facetime whatever you would like and at a time that is convenient to you.
Q. If we would like you to photograph our wedding day what is the process leading up to our wedding?
A. After we have chatted and I have answered all your questions I would need to get some details from you. I will send a form to you by e-mail requesting all the essential details.
Leading up to the wedding I am available to talk via skype as many times as you want, to go over any finer details
I would usually contact you 2 weeks before the day to double check times, addresses, where we will start the photography coverage and any transport and parking details.
I require a 50% deposit to secure the date. The final 50% would be payable 2 weeks prior to the wedding day.
Q. How many photographs will you take on the day?
A. No two weddings are the same so this does vary, however it is generally around 2000 images. From these I will edit and re-touch the best and you will then have approximately 400 fabulous pictures of your wedding day.
Q. When would we get to see the pictures?
A. I like to make available a small “taste” selection for you to view and share with family and friends via an online link within 2 weeks of your wedding day.
The final 400 pictures will be delivered on a USB stick in a presentation box within 6 weeks of the wedding.
Q. Do you shoot video of the wedding?
A. At the moment I do not offer video coverage of the wedding, however this may change.
Q. What happens if you are ill on the wedding day?
A. It would take a lot for me not to be able to photograph your wedding. In the past I have photographed a client’s wedding complete with neck brace after a particularly bad accident - the bride was over the moon with the pictures!
Q. What are your travel costs if you are travelling outside of SW France to photograph our wedding?
A. If I am photographing a wedding outside of SW France I would require somewhere to stay after the wedding. For international locations we can discuss travel and accommodation when you make contact.
Q. Can we see an example of the USB presentation box and the photo book and album?
A. I can supply you with images of the USB presentation box and links to the company that supply both the wedding albums and art books.
Q. If I have any further questions can I contact you directly?
A. Of course! I am happy to answer any questions you might have and look forward to hearing from you soon.
